What's involved (more than the windshield crowd admits)
Side and rear glass is tempered — it shatters into thousands of pieces that find their way into the door cavity, seat rails, and carpet. A proper job is half glass replacement, half excavation: door panel off, regulator checked, cavity vacuumed, glass set and aligned, panel back on without rattles. We bring the shop vac, not just the glass.
While you wait for glass
Common vehicles we can often do same-day or next-day. If your glass has to be ordered, we'll weatherproof the opening properly — crash wrap, not a trash bag and prayer — so the interior survives an Ozarks thunderstorm in the meantime.
Break-ins happen here too
If the window went out at a trailhead lot or downtown overnight, photograph everything before cleanup for the police report and any insurance claim, and check whether your comprehensive covers it. Then we make the glass part disappear — usually the easiest step of a bad day.
Frequently asked questions
Can you get the glass out of my seats and carpet?
Yes — full vacuum of the visible glass plus the pieces that fell inside the door cavity, which are the ones that rattle forever if skipped.
My window is off track but not broken. Do you fix that?
Often yes — regulator and track problems are the same disassembly as a glass replacement. Describe the symptoms and we'll quote it.
